Announcing a state of emergency today to ensure Florida is fully prepared for Hurricane
Dorian. The residents closely follow the hurricane safety measures and accumulate food,
water and medicine supplies for seven days. Dorian had already made himself known. As a
tropical storm, he attacked the US Virgin Islands. It is currently included in the first category
hurricanes.

At the end of the weekend or the beginning of next week, it is expected to come to the
shores of Florida, Georgia and probably South Carolina. Before that happens, Dorian is set to
become a hurricane of the third category.

Though forecasts may change, Florida authorities have been relieved to hear about the
change in Dorian's course. Governor Ron DeSantis warned, however, that even if the
hurricane passes by, the east coast of the state may feel a storm wind and a flood wave.
Florida authorities have not yet issued evacuation orders.
The darkest scenario will probably be avoided. According to the latest forecasts, the centre
of Dorian will pass at least several dozen kilometres from the east coast of Florida. The
hurricane will probably reach the mainland on Thursday or Friday. However, it should
weaken by then.

On Saturday morning, the hurricane was 650 km east of West Palm Beach, Florida and 450
km east of the Bahamas. It was moving in a west-north direction at a speed of 20km/ h,
which is slightly higher than the NHC in the previous Friday's announcement.
On Friday, the US president went to the Camp David centre, and on Saturday he spent
several hours at his golf club in Sterling, Virginia. White House spokeswoman Stephanie
Grisham said that in the afternoon local time, the US president will attend a briefing at
Camp David during which he will receive timely information on preparations for the
hurricane. On Sunday morning, Donald Trump will return to the White House and go to the
Federal Emergency Management Agency.

As a property investor it is important to decide on whether to invest time to build houses or flats. In recent years the market in London has changed. The cheaper flats are often attractive to new investors because of the low entry level however an inexperienced investor may fall into may legal traps.
